Artist's Description

This is a contemporary acrylic and enamel with mixed media on canvas. The artist used stencils and oil paint pens. This painting is based on barns with one or more sides painted from 1890-1992 with barn advertisement for West Virginia mail pouch chewing tobacco company (Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company), based in Wheeling West Virginia. These barn signs are designated National Landmarks. The painters of these barns and the most prolific of the bunch, Harley E. Warrick, usually signed their initials on the blue border surrounding the front side or nearer to the roof. This artist decided to sign his name on the blue border to salute and honor these artists that painted these barns. Also signed on the back.
