This is an abstract, acrylic and enamel with mixed media on canvas. The artist was inspired by a movie called 'Mr. Nobody', a story about a man who is the last mortal on Earth after the human race has achieved quasi-immortality. This is the third painting in his upside down series, a self portrait, and he wants the viewer to focus more not on the subject of the painting but the significant of the works visual insight. Its another form of expression, taking the content away and making it something more abstract, making us look at the picture because of its shapes, forms and color combination. Signed front and back.
Born in the small Northern Panhandle town of Glen Dale, West Virginia, gH FiLben studied art and music at an early age and loved the self abstract expressionism that painting allowed. He studied art and music throughout his childhood and continued through adulthood. He graduated from John Marshall High School and West Virginia University and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. gH FiLben has an original 48x60x1 abstract and mixed media on canvas called "One Green Circle" hanging proudly in Allen Hall on the WVU campus. Now residing in St. Louis, Missouri, he considers himself a self taught artist who works in a wide variety of mediums.
